Your existing MC6 license unfortunately counts for nothing in the upgrade realm - which I continue to think is a very poor decision on Avid's part. The "subscription" license also includes Symphony and a number of other tools. When you stop paying, you lose access to the software. You pay each month or year to use the software. Subscription - you do NOT keep the software you have. To start a new perpetual license, that's $1295, and it includes the first year of support. If you stop paying, your license is permanently locked into the last version you had access to - you cannot upgrade it further. Every year, you can buy a support contract for $295 - and if you do that, you get all upgrades released in that year. Perpetual - you keep the software you have, forever.
